Drossel again

And for my third entry is the second item that came in the mail today. It's Drossel in winter attire.I got pretty tired after shooting the scenario below and didn't have time to do a photo shoot with drossel yet, so this is kinda like a preview of my latest figure. I also have a short scenario in mind involving drossel and churuya! so there may be more pics to see tomorrow. Stay tuned!

My Nendoroid Trio + Opening up of Nendoroid Churuya

This is my trio of nendoroids that I'll use for doing some scenarios. Kinda like my main characters in whatever short story or stories that I will conjure up. I know nothing about Kureha from Shining Wind nor Riannon from Tears to Tiara, so they may seem out of character.

I hope to think up some good and funny stories using these three.

As for a start I did this quick one below. Coincidentally, Nendoroid Churuya came in the mail today (^^) so I thought how funny it could be to show the three opening up the package to get her out (and excuse the lame ass background. I needed something to cover a large area, and having a plain white background seemed boring):
Riannon: Hey! Look who arrived!!
Saber Lily: (reading) Chu-ru-ya-sa-n?
Kureha: Hmm. she looks pretty interesting.

Riannon: Lets go and get her out of the box! Oh! And I got dibs on her smoked cheese
Saber Lily: Alright, Alright...

Kureha: Here. Let me push this here so we can tip it over.
Saber Lily: Oof! You're pretty heavy Riannon, what've you been eating?
Riannon: Shut up!

Kureha: Ok we're rea-
Riannon: One....two...
Kureha: Hey! Wait until I am out of the way!

Riannon: Three!!!
Kureha: Kyaaa!!!
Kureha: Whew. That was scary.

(The three continue to open and pull out what's inside)

Churuya: Konnichiwa! Thanks Ri-chan! Lily-chan!
Saber Lily: Li.....Lily-chan?!?

Churuya: Ah!

Churuya: hey, Ri-chan. can I have the smoked cheese??
Riannon: No! No! I claimed it already!
Kureha: I'm afraid she's right
Saber Lily: Yup...
Churuya: Nyorooon........

Back to Business

I have about 3 things I'd like to post here, but rather than do one long one, I'll split them into 3 separate entries. Here's the first.

I've recently thought up some interesting ideas for some figures or miscellaneous items in general that would be cool and fun to have. It's a growing list, but from what I have, I have made a top 5 that I would like to see made, from #5 to #1:

#5: Yukiko Amagi Figma. They already started with Aegis from Persona 3, why not get some from Persona 4?

#4: Berserker Figma. And to put it at scale with the other fate figmas

#3: Konjiki no Yami Figma.

#2: Sheryl Nome's Earrings. I have a small collection of full scale items (Shana's Alastor necklace, Simon's Drill Necklace, Athrun Zala's Faith Pin). It'd be nice to include this one among those...

#1: Chuck Norris Figma Figure! Would you imagine how awesome that would be?!? How could they NOT have this one?

Wouldn't everyone agree with my #1!!! I'd put Rider figma and Mari Fraulein Revoltech (from the Eva movie) but it seems they are already on top of producing those two.

ほんと に ごめなさい

yerrrrgh..... finally back online. that one night between AX day 3 and 4, my computer crapped out on me again...fearing it might get worse if i turn it on, i played it safe until I was confident of what I could do. Honestly, I could have had it up earlier in the year but so much happened in that span of 5 or so months. Mainly, if you were aware of the wildfires that happened in California this past September (Station Fire), I was one of the unfortunate ones that had to evac... my room became a mess and it was hard for me to gain access to my computer.
Well, enough of that, the main point is that I am back up and running so I will try and get back on track with this blog. I have quite a bit to discuss so expect numerous entry's soon. And with that, I'll leave you with my lineup of my nendoroid figures!! :

The ones that are missing in the lineup are my Deathnote nendoroids (which I have at work) and Drossel, which came in a day after this shot was taken.

Day 3

......Too exhausted!!!!.......I will write about today tomorrow along with day 4....

Oh, but I will update the checklist below...

Day 2

Ok back from day two and I am ezhausted! I felt I took an ass load of pictures the whole day...I saw a lot of pretty cool costume ideas, bought a bunch of stuff (actually spent a massive load of money in the first 15 mins of the exhibit hall opening (but I am still under my expected spending per day as of right now)), and....well...not many panels that interested me today. The gundam 30th anniversary one ended up being a big crowd, the line got cut off before I even knew it.

My friend that manages her booth says that today was more crowded than yesterday and expects to be even more crowded tomorrow with it being the true weekend (see above of today's crowdiness). I expect some bumping around in the ex hall a lot tomorrow. I did a lil bit of it today... Ah well, all comes as part of conventions. I can't wait until tomorrow, yet feel sad that it's already past the halfway point of the convention, then after that it's 361 days of acting....like a normal person, I guess.

Again, I updated my list below.

Day 1 Down ; 3 more to go

K, I was planning to put something in here after day 0 but I never got around to it. Well to keep it short, I got there in the middle of their badge distribution range and from beginning of getting in line to actually getting the badge was 2 hours. That was expected. I did catch a glimpse of a few people already dressing up on that day.

Alright for Day 1, It went pretty well. I liked it. I was able to show my cousin and friend (one pic'd above) (hi mikey!) around. Since it was their first time there they were sure that if I wasn't there they would be completely lost and intimidated. they made it through with my help though and they had an awesome time! I'm glad you two had so much fun there, and Mikey, i'll be sure to find and take those Sasuke Pictures for you ^^.

And I crossed out on the list in the previous post on my cosplay scavenger hunt status. I guess I will cross it out as the days go on. hopefully I will pass my record from last year of a bit more than half. I am still open to more suggestions of what to look for.

K, I will update after each of these days, so expect one tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday. And since I take a whole lot of pictures with my camera, I will site a....site where I will show off my pictures for all 5 days here. See ya!

AX within the week!

Well, it's finally here for this year. I'll have 2 1/2 days of work then the rest of the week will be all the Anime Expo '09. It's already here yet I still feel I got a lot to do to prep up for it: make a list of things to get, look at the schedule to see what panels I would like to attend, sort out my cosplaying scavenger hunt list (updated below), look up if there are any exclusives...

All in all I think this one will be another fun year about the one thing that I love.

K-on!

This song is awesome! It's up there for me along with "God Knows..." from Haruhi! I just gotta share this if you haven't seen it yet!

(go to it's youtube location and watch it in HD!)

AX 2009 Countdown: 13 days and counting...

(Just wanted to post this image of my newest favorite anime character: Mio!!!!)

Yep, I guess I can consider myself a somewhat veteran of the Anime Expo conventions. This upcoming one being my 6th one to go to and I've moved up to going all 4 days ever since the awesome, yet horrible, one in 2007 with the whole Haruhi hype. I'd like to dive further into that but I know I'd just go on and on about it. I'll save it for another post.

Anyways, I've come up with an idea last year during my attendance at AX 08. Prior to going, I made up a list listing all the possible uncommon cosplaying outfits I may run into, and made it a kind of scavenger hunt. Here's an example: Finding an Ikkaku cosplayer from Bleach is easy, finding an Ikkaku cosplayer in Bankai form is a challenge (there was one last year btw). or finding a Bridget cosplayer from Guilty gear that is actually a guy but looks like a girl (which is the case in the game.) Get the idea? Pre-AX I was thinking that I wouldn't find a lot on the list but afterwards I was suprised to mark off more than half that I had on the list!

This is getting lengthy again so I'll get to the point. I'm doing the list again this year and I'm gonna share what I got so far. Of those who do view my blog right now I invite you to include any you think would be good. Here's my list so far along as what series it's from:

The 1/1 Odaiba Gundam

I'm a bit late on this great masterpiece of a 1/1 RX-78 Gundam. If you already been visiting Danny Choo's site the articles are spread all over the place about its construction and operation. I honestly have just been glimpsing through the articles to see the images, and they are awesome!

I took this image from one of the DC articles (so I don't claim any ownership over it) since I haven't been to Japan at all yet. and sad to hear that it may go down in August (T_T). At this point they got the head moving left and right, lights on during the night and sound effects remembered from the series. cool stuff!

Up and Running once again!

I have finally gotten my computer back up for the time being! Yay! and it only took me 3 months to do so... being busy with other stuff and often motivation most of that time played a role in that.

So anyways, there's quite a bit to catch up on here. i'll eventually get to that. I just gotta sort things out once again then i'll try and get back on track here. bare with me!

Down but not out!!

Ok, my computer crapped out on me pretty recently, and I am doing this off my cousin's computer while they are away on vacation and I'm left to tend to their house and dogs. So, there may not be a lot of posts for a bit until I'm able to fix up the problems on my own computer. Hopefully it shouldn't be too long until I do. I still gotta keep up with what's going on everywhere...

Figma Cycles

Lo and behold! My friend has been able to get a hold of the latest available figma accessories the Figma Cycles! I couldn't resist doing a shoot having the figmas themselves building them up so here it goes:
Konata: Hey! Kagami! Look what just came in! Let's build em!
Kagami: ...Alright, I guess this could be kind of fun to do.

Konata steadily places the bike on the floor while Kagami gets the necessary tool (><)

Holding the knife steadily, Kagami cuts at the connection points while Konata directs her where to cut (at the same time keeping her distance from Kagami just in case she starts getting frusturated)

With the parts all cut, they are ready to assemble the bike
Kagami: Don't we need the instruction manual to build it right?
Konata: Nah! I can do this with my eyes closed. :P

Assembly still continues. Looks like Kagami is finally having fun with assembling the bike.

Finished! The bike is done, leaving the two drained of energy. It actually did take longer than expected because Konata really did need the instruction manual.
Konata: Whew, finally. That's done...
Kagami: Yeah.....

Konata: Ah! We still have the second bike to build!
Kagami: Hey Yuki. You've been just sitting there the whole time we were building this. Why don't you help out?
Yuki looks up at the two....

...then looks back down at her book while holding up her wand. Konata and Kagami look puzzled at what she's doing...

Whaa??? The two turn around just to find that the second bike was instantaneously built with no effort!!!

While Yuki gets into her book again, Konata and Kagami feel utterly defeated seeing that they did all that work on the first bike. They should've asked Yuki in the first place. T_T

Well there you go! I hope you enjoyed that (at least for even a lil bit...). This was the first run of something like this, yet it took a while to do all the setup. My next idea would be similar when building the Macross Frontier model, using twice as many figmas ><. That's gonna take a while.....

Anime DVD Organizing and Best Buy

My DVD collection has grew immensely since I've started getting into anime. It was about time that I got around to doing a bit of organizing of my collection, so for my trip to Best Buy today, I got one of those cd folders to place my DVD's in. So in they go into the folder, and out go the dvd cases:

Items from front to back: DVD Folder, Empty DVD cases stacked up, Specific series collection boxes. On top of the box on the upper left is a cap/beanie based of Sachiel of Eva that I got during AX 08 (Unrelated but it found it's way there when I was moving things around to get to my DVD's). Not to mention, I haven't placed all DVD's in the folder. I'm leaving out from the folder series that are in special boxes or packaged differently as well as dvd collections I've gotten that are in slimpack. @ least these are less space consuming than the standard cases.

I've only started with my collection into the folder. A bit of math here: the packaging said 336 CD/DVD slots; I think I counted more. However I barely "made a dent", so to speak, in my collection and I have already filled more than half of the spaces in the folder.......I think I'll need to get one more folder...

The last two pictures are the numerous cases lined up before possibly being tossed out. I saved some that hold double discs; I feel that I can use these ones later.

And if you haven't heard, Best Buy's began reducing their anime stock in most stores. Sales aren't doing well in some stores so they're going to cut anime completely in some stores and only have the top 20 selling (I think) in other stores. The third grouping is apparently safe from being cut, however their sales will not be discounted on their remaining anime (up to 50% I hear). My main 3 Best Buy's are safe (whew), but I feel for those whose Best Buy's are affected. A link to a list of Best Buy stores being affected by the cuts here. Best of luck to everyone!

SF4

Such an amazing game! We haven't even scratched the surface of it's possible potential!

I haven't been posting lately just because of this (hey i warned you in an earlier post). I thought I would be mastering Sakura a lot more, but it appears I'm pretty good with Fei Long. Played my friend online who uses chun-li and lost couple of times while using Sakura but when Fei came up the matches were pretty even. I didn't even expect that...

ACHAAAAA!!!!!

Sayonara, futari-tomo!

To my two friends, Jenneli and Michael, who are moving to the other side of the Pacific: Please take care while you are over there and don't forget about us over here! I will miss all of our anime talk during our various work breaks... well, we still have those two hours or so where we share hours and we can waste those minutes.

Best of luck to you two!!

Rena and Haruhi

As I mentioned, here's my images of my latest 2 figures: Rena Sayers and Haruhi Suzumiya. First off, Rena! This specific figure's from the My Otome series, but she's from another series which uses similar characters but completely different stories (a.k.a. My Hime and My Otome; I just forget what the series is called)

Pretty beautiful figure! It'd be nice to bring this figure to a beach and take nice pictures of her at a beautiful scenic beach!

This is a nice dynamic feel of the hair. Gives off a gusty feel to her.

Same comments for this image as above. I can totally imagine this shot at a beach with a nice blue sky behind.

Next up is Haruhi! I shouldn't need to explain her story...Anyways, her shirt is cast-offable to have her in her 2 piece bikini. both look pretty good I sometimes find it hard to decide which one I like better...

Honestly, this was one of the figures I was looking forward to when it came out and now that I have it, my expectations were just slightly off on it (I won't get into details). Nonetheless, it is still a nice figure as well and still glad I got it!

The figure is free standing, not requiring any pegs. The base here is pretty different in which it's cork instead of a plastic base.

I feel that she would looks a bit more sexier if the shirt was a lil bit more glossy, giving a look of as if she just came out of the ocean at a beach. whatt'dya think?

The last two I resized to a 1024x768 size, nice for a small wallpaper. I can make larger sizes upon request^^

K there u go with those two. I tried to keep it short but it seems I still might've kept it more lengthy again... I'll try to get a very short post up next couple of posts. Till then!
