A short update.

Got some rennovating to do in my compact room due partially to the holday season that I have to pack up some of my figures. So I'll be without the company of my little companions hopefully for a short period T_T. All for the better in the end though.

Second, I've had a few travel buddies to take along with me whenever I head out. My latest to join in my out-ing mischiefs is a revoltech Alien Warrior. I think this is gonna be fun! I'll post something like a "greeting" pic of him/her up here sometime (There may be a lot featuring him/her so I'd figure I'll give him/her a name).

Hi and 2 new 4Komas!

To some new followers, Welcome! I hope you enjoy the posts that I place in here!

And here are 2 new 4Komas that I haven't had time to place up in here yet. I really haven't been able to do some recent photoshoots lately, too much going on at the moment...

Mirai Fanart!

At the beginning of this month, Danny made a request on his site to fans to submit some fanart of Mirai. Those submitted would then be shown up on Culture:Japan in an upcoming episode; Although I am not sure if all that are submitted would be shown.

I decided to jump in on the bandwagon and do a quick fanart/lineart shown below:

It's one of my more good arts, although not as good as some others I've seen... (I've been quite pessimistic lately, I dunno why). Despite that, I'm not intimidated by that and will shortly post it up on Figure.fm right after this! It'd be nice to see this up in C:J!

I guess I'll also put here the same info requested when posting up a fanart:
Nickname: Maikeru To
Country of Residence: United States
URL: http://purpleandgreen54.blogspot.com/
Hours spent: 3-4 Hours
Software Used: MS Paint (for minor cleanup)

Camera Photos

Just quickly. Some photos taken from my Droid's camera:

Noel at IHOP enjoying some OJ

Noel at Olive Garden ready for some neverending pasta. Yum!!

Does adding greens w/ miso vinaigarette really make this Japanese food? Take that out and it's Mexican...

On the flip side.... :
Uh....that's brown rice??

New Awesome Light Writing!

Ok for Part 2 of my photo shooting catchup, I have created some new light writing shots, mostly featuring BRS. And from what I've looked at, they came out pretty awesome!!!
My Favorite one. Like the close up and the effect of the flame.

Another Fave. Only seeing the lower half but the blue flame stands out above.

This last one of the above 4 is probably the best because the flame is the most blue.
And now with her shooting a giant laser out of the Rock Cannon (for some reason). Her Flame could have been better but the latter photos didn't have a nice beam effect that this one dones.
And finally, Unit 01 Awakened with the halo overhead. An improvement from the previous one I did in that I secured the light to a wheel and spun it around during the shot. It's a lot more even yet the non-straightness in it gives it a nice touch, I think.

Finally a new 4koma!

Ok, so for this week I am able to do a lot more photo shoots at home more so than normally so I can do a lot of catch up in some areas. Here's finally a new 4koma that I had on the backburner since I obtained the revoltech Batman figure. Enjoy!

And on a side note, and from my previous post, no I still didn't get through watching Cloverfield without turning away or looking blurry (not looking through my glasses and thus seeing the screen as a blur). Got me thinking: Revoltech is covering most sci-fi monsters both Japanese and American (surprisingly not Godzilla yet but that's besides the point); I wonder if they'd ever get to making a Cloverfield Monster Revoltech. That, then would where I would definitely be able to face it because I'd think it'd be cool to have. I'm all over that if that were to happen! ....I'm pretty weird, huh?...

Cloverfield

Seems that Cloverfield is finally being shown on television (on FX). Now I admit that I although I do enjoy this movie, one of my favorite monster movies, I've only seen it that one time in the theatre, and I'm kinda freaked out in watching it again. Just seeing the monster freaks me out! maybe I can slowly work it in so I get used to seeing it :P

Trip to Monterey Bay with Mio

So I recently went on a trip with my folks up to Monterey Bay via PCH and have taken a bunch of pictures. My travel figma companion, lovely Mio,  decided to come along for the trip and got into some of the pictures! (Although I do have many many shots from the trip and not to overload the post, here're the ones featuring Mio (and friends):

First stop: at an inn along the PCH at Ragged Point. There were few paths along the ridge and this one shows the scariness that is the PCH. If you notice the horizontal rows of trees, that's pretty  much where the road is! Scarry!!!!

Lunch break at the same inn. Mio's gathering our cold waters.

Aand Mio presenting a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Simple yet kept me content until we hit up Monterey later that day :P

Later, in Monterey, having dinner at Fisherman's Wharf.

Mio: "Hmm what should we get? A lot of choices" Well whenever I think of dining at a Fisherman's Wharf, what always comes to mind is.......

Clam chowder in a sourdough Bread bowl!! Mio: "Wow! Looks delicious!"

Mio: "Ugghh.. I think I had enough of that for now..."

Next morning, Mio's still recuperating from the heavy dinner, Noel decided to head out with me in her stead. She decides to overlook the bay looking for some seals scattered about.

Noel:"Hmm none here..."

Mio finally got up and came about for some nice coast and beach shots

"Uhh Mio, I can see your....." Mio:"?.............!!!"

And that's my trip with my lovely companion. I hope to bring her along a lot more often on my trips all around!

Still Here

K, so I was on a bit of hiatus again. Coincidental that I took a bit of a break last year due to my computer crapping out on me on the week of AX. This time though, my comp was still working, I was just on the lazy side of not doing anything. So here I go continuing posting here. (oh, and I uber failed at what I said I'd do w/ part 2 and 3 of my AX posting...)

An addition to not just posting that I'm still here, I'll post some figure pictures I just did today to post up on figure.fm. Figma Blackrock Shooter came in and I made a pose with her on the Freeing American Bike. Looked sooo good that I am keeping that one as is. I will have other BRS Figmas coming in so I can play around with those.
This is my #2 favorite:

Finally!...

I've finally done my first post on figure.fm and made myself known through the community! I'll still be posting here as normally as I do. It looks like the 4komas that I've shown are starting to be a hit, seeing a lot of people commenting about them already.

I am not sure how much more traffic I will be getting here after making my debut but we'll see how it comes along.

And if you are coming in here from figure.fm, welcome and I hope you enjoy my blog. I have the other 4komas I mentioned already in here so if you would want to see what I will be posting up next.

Profile Name Change

Since I think I'll start finding myself creating posts up in figure.fm fairly soon, I decided to change my profile name the same as the name I have up there. I think it'll keep things more organized imo. So from now, I'll be using the profile name "Maikeru to".

My profile name is actually a parody of the manga "Yotsuba to"("Yotsuba &" in US). In this sense you can guess what my first name is.

Because Text-Only is so boring! Part 1

I realize that all my AX coverage in earlier posts were all in text and no pictures to show off so here are some of the more notable ones I got. I'll post in 3 separate posts, first Location and events, 2nd nice cosplayers, and 3rd funny cosplayers:

Nokia Theatre

Danny Choo in the Dancing Stormtrooper Suit to start off the event. Even did some dancing on stage.

1st Day Crowdiness

Danny @ his first panel on Saturday.

Danny's 'daughter' Saber came along as well to attend AX.

Sunday morning. Used this image for the week's photo theme in 6 inches.

Saturday Crowdiness in the Exhibit Hall.

Danny again rallying up his dedicated follwers!

Highlight of Saturday: Meeting Danny @ the meet-and-greet at the ESPN Zone and having him sign my Mirai dakimakura pillow cover. His hand covered up what he wrote but it says "Please Look After Mirai! -Danny Choo 2010.7.3 AX". This is the first image of showing myself on my blog, btw.

More 'daughters' showed up for Danny's sunday panel.

Danny switching to his iPad for showing up on the projector.

One more picture of me and Danny after Sunday's panel.

Finally, a picture of Katsuyuki Konishi for Sunday's autograph signing (looked exhausted b/c of his schedule).

K that's part 1 of my AX images. I was gonna jump straight into parts 2 and 3, but think I'll cover those later this week.
